This year, we are excited to launch our Stewardship Campaign called “Heed the Call”. Stewardship in the Fall is, of course, our opportunity to steward the resources given to us to the glory of God in the proclamation of the Gospel. We do that by making a pledge for the year, striving for the Biblical standard of the tithe which is 10%, from our personal income that supports the church.

When we “Heed the Call” of God in Christ, the work of this parish brings people into a relationship with Himself and gives powerful meaning to whatever He has called us to do in life. It is the proclamation to the Gospel that heals the pain and frustration of the often elusive search for meaning and purpose in life. Whatever call we have- father, mother, banker, electrician, student- carries eternal importance.

As we consider our pledges for this coming year, let us invest in the very thing we, our neighbors, and the world are longing for: a purpose and meaning given as a gift in Christ. This is the power of a Christian calling. So many ideas and things promise this purpose and identity. Only Christ can give it in a way that fulfills the promise of freedom and flourishing.

Our goal for this Stewardship season is $420,000 in pledges. This would be a 16% increase from last year which would put us on a good path to recovery from the pandemic years. With the growth and excitement we have seen over the past couple of years, this would be a realistic and hopeful goal for our church. As always, Stewardship is a means to an end- not in a utilitarian way like we get from the world but in an otherworldly way. This is the way of Christian freedom, purpose, identity, and call.
