This mission trip at STE is designed for youth who are 7th-12th graders, graduates, and adults.
A mission trip mobilizes groups on gospel-centered, Christ-focused, short-term mission trips designed to support the strategic, long-term ministry of missionaries and churches around the world.
ABOUT THE TRIP
Short-term trips are an incredible opportunity to grow spiritually, to cultivate an awareness of the world and needs around you, and to respond to God’s call to make disciples among all nations through personal, servant-minded ministry. We will partner with Praying Pelicans , a missions ministry in Haiti and the Dominican Republic primarily working in and through local, indigenous churches and pastors.
Our STE team will have an opportunity to impact Mexico, just as much as the trip itself will have a long-term impact on our own lives. We will be a part of building intentional relationships in communities through work projects, ministry activities, and evangelism. Empowering indigenous leaders leads to sustainable change. When our team works alongside these local churches and ministry partners who know the needs of their communities, we are able to help these ministries serve more efficiently and effectively as we share the love of Christ together.
These trips are a place to experience God. They are a time to step away from your typical week, get a little out of your comfort zone, and experience life in a different place. Mission of Hope's desire is that your trip refreshes your soul and is a journey you never forget!
ABOUT PRAYING PELICANS MISSIONS (PPM)
PPM exists to build up, encourage, and assist the local Church in serving and reaching their communities for Christ.
As an interdenominational ministry, PPM seek to recognize the diversity of the church while leveraging what binds us together as followers of Jesus Christ. There is no more powerful example of God's love to a community than when His people come together to serve and advance the Gospel, all in the name of Jesus.
Praying Pelican Missions’ vision is to see a united global Church reaching its fullest potential for the glory of God. They believe the best way to accomplish our mission and vision is to support the local Church 365 days a year. They do this in three ways: short-term mission trips, our sponsorship program PPM365, and disaster response.
ABOUT BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO
The Mexican State of Baja California boasts wonderful weather, amazing hospitality, and a local Church that is eager for genuine partnership!
Trips to Baja California begin in San Diego, where Praying Pelicans Missions (PPM) will meet our team. From there, a short drive will be taken to the border where our team will be guided across. Entering Mexico is quick and seamless, often taking less than 20 minutes. Once across the border, our team will take a short drive (less than two hours) to your partnership community. PPM staff will be with you through this entire process, making it easy and enjoyable for our group.
Once we arrive in your partnership community, our team will meet our host church pastor (often over a fresh taco or cold drink!). Our host pastor and host church will be the key to our week of ministry. Through them, we will hear the needs of the community, the ministries that are currently happening, and how our team can have a lasting impact. Our team will participate in a wide range of ministries, determined by our team's skillsets and the community's needs. It won't take long for our team to find that relationships are the focus of the Mexican people. Ministries can include home visits, kids ministry, sports, outreach, and more.
Baja California is an amazing place to serve. The Church is active and the people are ready to partner with your team! We invite you to come partner with us.
